Art Exhibition
Ian Dunn
Ian Dunn has been many things: musician, writer, sailor, teacher but is, and always was, foremost an artist. He has lived and worked in countries as far afield as Greece, America, Egypt and currently Germany where he holds the position of head lecturer at the Regensburg Academy of Art.
Ian Dunn will be Artist in Residence and holding workshops at Tonbridge school before and during the Arts Festival (see programme).
My paintings are mirrors which reflect to me, via the process of making Art, a state of mind... myself.
Self irony, a certain dryness of wit, a utopian mish-mash of mixed up longings, a fascination for kitsch, sexuality, trivia, vanity, poetry and death...
Left alone, I stumble cluelessly around myself. Through the process of painting I manage, against all odds, to perceive some dimly lit aspects of what's happening in my most intimate self.
