A ground-breaking piece of hip hop theatre that features the best b-boys in the UK. Mouse (World solo b-boy champion 2006), Steady and Chimp Chilla from Funkstylerz Dance Company will amaze you with their unbelievable dance skills that draw upon a repertoire of breakdance, house, boogaloo, popping and locking. Each of the performers tells his own unique story, from humble beginnings to performing on the world stage.
Experience what it's like to be an outsider in the "gladiator's circle" as they tell their unique life stories about how they got into this movement and came to survive and finally thrive there. Combining narrative, physical theatre and dance alongside a live score by DJ G-Kut, Life of a b-boy is essential viewing and sets the standard for hip-hop theatre. Each scratch by the DJ represents a moment in time and each record plays the landscape for our young gladiators.
