Marcus Brigstocke
Stand-up comedy
Friday 19th October, 6.30pm and 8.30pm
Marcus won the 1996 BBC New Comedian Award at the Edinburgh Festival and has since emerged as a major comedy, writing and acting talent, performing stand-up to thrilled, sell-out audiences across the country.
His television credits include many appearances as a stand-up on Live from the Comedy Store, the BBC Stand up Show and in character as Giles Wemmbley Hogg. The huge cult success of his David Oxley, BA Hons - presenter of We Are History - has bought him to the attention of many an adoring fan and the odd angry archaeologist.
Radio 4 has become a second home for Marcus as he is rarely off the 6.30 slot He is a regular writer and performer for the satirical Now Show with Punt and Dennis. His proudest radio creation however is Giles Wemmbley Hogg Goes Off.
Marcus lives in south London, happily married to his university sweetheart and he may well also be the proudest dad in the world. He is fanatical about snowboarding and in fact has set up gigs in the Alps so that he can do stand-up and snowboard at the same time.
